Easter Sunday 2006

Sofia and her family all gathered at Vooyko and Teta's place in Maple this morning for our traditional Mamossa and Kobassa...or Mambassa...as I like to call it. Sofia was wearing her Easter best, and had about 28 chocolate Easter eggs throughout the day. Breakfeast was great as always, but I can't look at another piece of kobassa for atleast another half hour! Oh yeah...Mambassa also means 'sauce made from eggs' in Nigerian...hmmmm.

We went to church this afternoon to bless our Easter food for tomorrow. We met up with The Baba's and The Dido's and even XPECHA was there! Sofia took her first ride on her new bike today...after about 10 seconds she decided to blow some bubbles instead.

Sofia and The King

Sofia had her yearly physical today and everything is perfect! She's in the 75th percentile for her height - 2.89 feet, and in the 50th percentile for her weight - 27 lbs. I googled 27 lbs today, and the first thing that came up that weighed the same as Sofia, was Angelo Mazzolli's Alaskan King !!! No wonder Sofia loves grilled salmon!

April 18th 2006 - Sofia turns 2

Today was Sofia's 2nd Birthday. The day started off with a birthday call from Vooyko Roman in Singapore ( Thanks for waking us up at 6 am ). The day ended with a surprise...Sofia's first bicycle !!! Baba's and Dido's joined us for a BBQ dinner and Sofia's favourite food - CAKE !!!!

Sofia's First Bed !!!

This coming weekend will be a big step for Sofia, as she leaves the crib and starts sleeping in her first bed !!! She can't wait !!! She already knows that her little sister will be taking over her old crib, and is ready for the big room !!! The video below captures her reaction as she sees the bed for the first time !!!

Shorty Longoria ?

Sofia has very fine hair. After my calculations, it will take 31 years to grow long if we keep cutting it at the rate that we do. ( "but it's good for the hair, it'll grow faster and thicker' - CM ). With the magic of photoshop, we can look 16 years into the future, and see what Sofia's hair will look like....

On second thought, let's let nature take it's course....
